I already knew that job hunting after undergrad would be tough, but now I really feel like I’m going to be stuck at my grocery job forever. Thank goodness I have some video editing/design skills to freelance with for the time being (and the internship), but I kinda want to cry right now for how depressed I am.
The upside is that recruiters liked my resume enough for me to land a few interviews, so it isn’t my resume or cover letters that’s killing me. Luckily I’m pretty great at interviews (but not dates) so hopefully my luck changes. Mazzanti Evantra for my woes.

Always a nice fallback, isn’t it? I eventually want to sell my video composting skills for some side cash.

Hey man, it’s a long haul getting where you want to be. A few Opponauts are in the middle of job searches right now. The key is to keep pushing, so chin up!

You should try it, there is actually a lot of work you can pick up by doing that. Its just in my area, it tends to have its ups and downs in terms of demand. (L.A.)

GAH! I CAN RELATE SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!111111111
I struggled after graduating to find a job whilst all my friends were getting jobs and I got into a state of depression and thinking I wasn’t good enough. I got a spark of motivation and redid my Resume and got it checked over by a few people then got it out there.
It’s hard man, but you’ll make it.
I actually dislike my job but I’m now working notice and have a new job lined up for a better package.
You might not find the best job straight away, but you’ll get there. Life is a journey and you might have to make some stops on the way.

if you need to chat man, just give me a shout. I know first hand how shit finding a job after University is. I went for an interview 2 and a half hours away and was awful at it, they wanted a guy with experience and I tried to blag my way through and it wasn’t to be. I got another one closer to home and I had pretty much given up hope so I was just totally honest and got the job, it was a shit job and I’m glad to be leaving but it was experience. When things started to go downhill I matured a bit and learned a lot, I went for an interview for a Junior Engineer position that paid 30% more and had a vastly superior benefits package. I didn’t know what I was talking about (this is an oil and gas industry job) and I made them aware of it and they still employed me because I was honest and willing to learn.
Wall o’text, sorry.

Haha no problem with the wall of text. I needed that pep talk, and you really inspire me to keep going. Congrats on the job also!

Keep on keepin’ on. It’s a tough market out there and you can’t give up. It took me a year after college to land a full time gig in my field (mechanical engineering). You’ll get there eventually, it’s just going to take some hard work.
